The Laparoscopic Checklist
The aim of this checklist is to provide laparoscopic surgeons with a simple tool to prevent starting a laparoscopy without all the safety tools needed.
For example, it is of utmost importance to have a suction-irrigation device for every single laparoscopy, because in case of bleeding it is the only tool which will allow to control and see the bleeding site. It is recommended to complete this checklist or even better to read it during the time out, since the best use of a checklist is to be done orally.
By following all these items, one can be sure that every tool will be immediately available in case of any complication.
